FP&A Manager
Job Description
Fragomen, an AmLaw 100 law firm and the leading global immigration services firm, is searching for a FP&A Manager for our Matawan, NJ HQ. This position will have a hybrid work arrangement (2 days/week in office).
The position is responsible for budgeting, forecasting, and planning for the US Domestic Practices and various functional responsibilities.
The position will be professionally interacting with Partners, C Suite, and Director levels at the firm to improve revenue realization and profitability. The ideal FP&A Manager will be a hands-on, self- motivated manager who is detail orientated, analytical, organized and can visualize "the big picture" and will thrive in a high pressure, fast paced environment, and possess extreme attention to detail.
How will you make a difference as an FP&A Manager at Fragomen?
- Be responsible for the annual budget and monthly forecast for legal practices in concurrence with the FP&A department and Partnership
- Be responsible for monthly variance analyses of actual to budget/forecast. Review financial results with partners and FP&A directors monthly. Suggest and follow up with action plans to maintain or exceed budgeted profit margin
- Work closely with Partners, Directors, and Managers as well as Human Resources personnel to control and maximize staffing efficiencies. Track HC by person to ensure accurate budgets and forecasts
- Participate in month-end, quarter-end, year-end closing processes to ensure information is accurate and complete in the financial statements
- Analyze leasing solutions and track expenses for the project
- Support CFO, FP&A Directors, and Partners with ad-hoc projects
- Assist with developing and testing new reports in Tableau dashboards
- Have a continuous improvement mindset and suggest changes to improve efficiency in the finance processes
- Participate in Client RFPs as they pertain to the region
- Use various reporting applications (Prophix, Quantum, SAP, Tableau) to produce monthly and ad hoc reports
- Use the HR software, Workday, and excel for tracking new hires and open positions
Let's talk if you have the following qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
- Advanced degree, MBA or minor in computer science is a plus
- Minimum of 7 years' finance experience in the legal industry, professional services, or corporate companies
- Working knowledge of financial statements; experience with budgeting and forecasting process
- Strong computer skills including ERP/Accounting systems and strong Excel skills
- Excellent reporting skills & experience with ERP and business intelligence tools: Elite, Excel, SAP WEBI, Tableau, Power BI, Hyperion. Understanding SQL and relational data warehouse is a plus
- Strong leadership skills, continuous improvement mindset and a drive to make a difference in an organization
- Ability to handle big transactional data volume for reporting purposes
- Ability to demonstrate self-motivation and ownership of assigned work and drive projects to completion
- Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task, handle multiple deliverables at a time and meet deadlines
- Excellent collaborative team leader with ability to build relationships
- Ability to interact with legal and administrative personnel in domestic and foreign offices
- Ability to adapt quickly to a changing and demanding environment
- Work extended hours at month-end and year-end
