Job Description

The Fraud Data Science Sr. Associate will be responsible for analyzing fraud data to identify patterns, trends, and abnormalities. This role will also be responsible for developing and implementing fraud prevention strategies, and will work closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure that all fraud prevention initiatives are executed effectively. The ideal candidate will have to be a critical thinker, have excellent communication skills and should have the ability to work with SQL and Python.
What you'll do at Avant:
  • Analyze large sets of fraud data to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies
  • Develop and implement fraud prevention strategies and processes
  • Monitor and analyze fraud trends, patterns and emerging threats, and update fraud detection models accordingly
  • Communicate results of fraud analysis to relevant stakeholders and provide recommendations for fraud mitigation and prevention
  • Work with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure that all fraud prevention initiatives are executed effectively
  • Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to track and monitor fraud data
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify and mitigate fraud risks
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously improve fraud prevention processes and practices
  • Develop and maintain internal and external fraud prevention policies and procedures
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices related to fraud prevention

What We Are Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as project management, mathematics, computer science, or statistics
  • 3+ years of experience in fraud data analysis, fraud prevention, or related field
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong experience with SQL and data analysis tools, such as R or Python
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively to identify and mitigate fraud risks
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to effectively analyze and interpret large data sets
  • Familiarity with fraud prevention techniques and technologies
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
