Job Description

The Role General Motors Communications team is seeking a short term (20 weeks) team member oversee the alignment of content and assets on GM’s owned channels including: Socrates, Media Online, GM.com and our social channels, as well as performance reporting from those sites. The goal is to leverage content and assets across these channels for a multi—pronged approach to storytelling to our key audiences. Preferred Skills Must have experience in digital and social ecosystems’, an eye for creative assets, a firm knowledge of AP Style, newsroom experience (preferred), knowledge of audience user experience, demonstrated understanding of SEO. In addition, experience with media monitoring and/or creating clip sheets and dashboards is a plus. Responsibilities:

• Alignment of all stories and content across GM owned channels – Socrates, Yammer, Story Driver, MOL, GM.com and social

• Manage News Operations and Story Bureau teams

• Identify and/or create cross-channel content that reinforces GM priorities and reputational drivers and that can be measured and tracked. Ensure each cross-channel story has a communications strategy and asset management plan developed in collaboration with each of the owners of GM’s owned and paid channels

• Lead a cross-channel editorial team meeting with representatives from all brands, news relations, and employee communications, including amplification plans for GM brand stories

• Coordinate with consumer brand teams on stories

• Work with and manage a team of brand storytellers, copy editors, creative directors, art directors and media strategists- News Operations and Story Bureau

• Lead social and digital integrated channel strategy and dashboard reporting – create and maintain

• Experienced with maximizing SEO using reputation drivers and key words, work with insights team and provide counsel to writers

• Work with User Experience team to optimize back-end technology across platforms

• Oversee all performance reporting for the U.S. Communications Team and work with brand leaders to ensure measurement goals are being met

• Responsible for managing web analytic tools and reporting for MOL and GM’s intranet

• Manage GM’s “Daily News Digest” clip sheet that is circulated throughout the company

• Manage gm.com governance council

• Work with GM legal team supporting Corp Comms on all matters
