THE OPPORTUNITY: Freelance Colorist
Birdy Grey is looking for a Freelance Colorist to support our Design and Product Development team. As a Freelance Colorist, you will be responsible for maintaining and approving color standards and bulk submissions, communicating with vendors/factories, and acting as a team player with a strong eye for detail.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES

• Update color palettes in partnership with Design and Product Development teams
• Approve lab dips and bulk submissions with overseas vendors
• Track color approvals and manage WIP, while adhering to calendar timelines
• Maintain color libraries, file lab dips, develop new techniques for color organization
• Correspond with vendors and factories overseas in a timely manner
• Ensure color standards are being met with the highest standard across all fabrications, which include chiffon, satin, stretch crepe, lace, jersey, lace, and more.

THE RIGHT CANDIDATE: QUALIFICATIONS & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree Required
EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS:

• 2 years of experience as a Colorist or in Design, Product Development, Textile & Fabrics with color approval/management responsibilities
• Impeccable organizational skills and strong eye for color and detail
• Ability to come into our DTLA 2 days a week
• You have an entrepreneurial spirit. You thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, fluid environment. You are comfortable with ambiguity and take initiative to lead projects
