hi there, we’re amika. a friend to hair, hairstylists, her, him, them, + you. amika means friend in the language esperanto and is a symbol of our belief in the power of community + the beauty of diversity.  
 
brooklyn-born + salon raised: where creativity + culture is a way of life. we’re a collective of creatives, hairstylists, chemists, + product enthusiasts that like to bend the rules.  

we created 11 collections for every hair type, texture + style - all hair is welcome. 

the job:

as a part-time junior copywriter for amika, you will report to the editorial + copy team to support messaging across various global touchpoints. as a champion of the brand voice, you will craft creative, strategic + educational messaging to help drive the business across various platforms including email marketing, our in-house blog, the strand, paid media + loveamika.com. our voice plays an essential role in communicating our brand pillars + personality—it’s 1 of the many ways we create a connection with our community. to be successful in this role you will be ready for a fast pace with an ability to be agile, patient + creative.  

this is a part time freelance role and you will need to work east coast hours (EST)

location: remote (must be based in the US)

what you'll do

• craft compelling email copy for evergreen + promotional emails 
• partner + liaison with the e-commerce team + relevant stakeholders to write loveamika.com copy 
• proof copy in design + communicate internally with efficiency 
• act as a copy liaison for specific one-off projects 

 must haves:

• relevant beauty experience, either in house or at an agency 
• 1-3 years of relevant copywriting experience (beauty preferred) 
• knowledge of email marketing, PDP copywriting, SEO-driven data 
• long-form creative copywriting abilities (blog experience preferred)  
• Asana experience a plus!
