SUMMARY
We are looking for an experienced Freelance Head of Production to manage all live action shoots at Mirada. We are looking for someone who has experience in bidding and overseeing all facets of high-quality live action production for broadcast TV commercials and digital content, as well as virtual production, experiential projects, AR/VR and technology based content production.

The Head of Production will be expected to pitch new business, respond to RFIs and RFPs, and guide the company in adherence with labor laws, union contracts and industry standard practices. We are looking for a creative problem solver with a deep understanding of production who will support Mirada in continuing to be a leader in pushing the envelope of creativity while providing real-world solutions for our clients.

This is a Hybrid work location role, and you will be required to work out of the office at least 1 day a week, and as needed when the live action production crew are working in the office.  Please note, Trailer Park Group pays all freelance talent via W2 payroll.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Lead efforts to respond to RFIs and RFPs, and pitch new business, including bidding of union and non-union live action and experiential projects.
  • Coordinate resources needed to service projects, build strategic operational plans and balance the expectations of clients with the execution of creative work.
  • Supervise the building and onboarding of crew/teams and initiate the production process (scouting, casting, hiring key crew, etc.) for projects that come in.
  • Directly supervise live action and experiential projects.
  • Interface with finance department and supervise all accounting needs (crew payroll, petty cash, A/P, A/R, DGA reports, audits, etc.)
  • Review and revise contracts, vendor agreements, deal memos, talent contracts, etc.
  • Proactively target and develop relationships with key industry prospects, watch the marketplace for opportunities the studio can pursue.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • 5+ years experience as a Head of Live Action or Head of Production at a commercial production company or studio.
  • Experience producing or production managing live action broadcast TV commercials and digital content. 
  • Experience in experiential, virtual production, AR/VR and/or technology based content production is a plus.
  • MUST HAVE experience with and strong knowledge of California labor laws and all commercial union rules and contracts (IATSE, Teamster & DGA).
  • MUST be deeply familiar and comfortable with the AICP Bid form and bidding / actualizing platforms (Hot Budget, True Budget, Etc.)
  • Have a deep network of union and non-union production crew and international production partners / service companies.
  • Knowledge of industry standard software and platforms (CAPSPAY, CAPS ETC, Hot Budget, WireDrive, Monday.com, and similar systems)
