Freelance Manager, Client Experience - Consumer
Job Description
We’re seeking a creative, passionate and versatile team contributor to support a global travel brand’s Consumer Comms team in an embedded role via Weber Shandwick. The Consumer Comms team is focused on developing compelling campaigns to engage new audiences and insert the brand into a wide range of pop culture conversations. This person will help the team develop and execute buzz-worthy campaigns that keep the iconic brand front of mind, stimulate word-of-mouth and drive positive sentiment for the brand. The ideal candidate is curious, engaged, proactive, and solution-oriented. Popular trends are constantly evolving so the ideal candidate is keenly aware of shifts in consumer behavior and on the pulse of the latest news in entertainment, travel and technology.
 Responsibilities may include but are not limited to;
- Support the travel brand’s Consumer Comms Senior Manager in the development and execution of comms strategies and campaigns by drafting, editing and reviewing press materials and briefs, liaising with partners and project managing consumer campaigns
- Support the Consumer Comms team in the execution of the 2023 campaign roadmap by assisting with research, brief development, drafting press materials and reporting
- Lead US media strategies, liaising with PR partners, in order to land favorable stories in US press
- Collaborate and coordinate with international teams to develop global media strategies for consumer campaigns
- Support the calendar of drumbeat press stories by drafting copy, leading media strategies in collaboration with PR and social, and managing inbound press enquiries
-Identify community engagement opportunities, trends, and newsjacking moments to drive positive conversation
- Assist in management of influencer and PR partners including attending weekly calls and monitoring program status
- Demonstrate an understanding and awareness of evolving trends by monitoring social media channels and the dally news cycle and escalating campaign opportunities when appropriate
- Identify opportunities to engage celebrities and support Talent Lead in executing these opportunities, E.g. drafting briefs, co-ordinating media strategies
- Assist in developing weekly and campaign reporting
Requirements
- 4-5 years professional experience in social media and/or communications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- A passion for pop culture and trends
- Knowledge and expertise in building and executing organic campaigns and strategies that drive favorable press and social buzz
- Excellent communication and writing skills and attention to detail
- Experience working with and managing multiple stakeholders on cross-functional projects
- Proactive self-starter with a proven track record of taking initiative!Â
California Salary range: $70/hr - $80/hr
Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
