Freelance Media Relations Specialist

Small Girls PR is looking for a part-time Freelance Media Relations Specialist to support media relations and pitching efforts. We are looking for someone with experience across a range of categories including tech (B2C and B2B), thought leadership, home decor, pet brands / services, fashion & beauty and consumer finance. 

How you’ll make an impact:

• Write compelling pitches to provide media everything they need to garner impactful coverage
• Establish and maintain warm relationships with consumer media in digital, newsletters, podcast, and broadcast, leading to regular placements as well as feature stories. 
• Help us develop pitches and relationships to earn placements in social media channels, like Hypebeast's TikTok.

• You have 3-5 years of media relations and pitching experience, ideally within tech (B2C and B2B), home decor, pet brands / services, fashion and beauty or general consumer lifestyle
• You’re intellectually curious and a natural storyteller

• You’ve already secured top-tier press placements and have the clips to prove it
• You’re a skilled writer, who crafts pitches and copy with clarity and cleverness
• You love forging relationships with media and colleagues
• You tackle the challenge of placing news stories in the competitive media environment with optimism and curiosity
• Your passion for error-free work; you double-check every detail and spot a typo a mile away

The hourly rate for this role is between $35.00-$50.00 per hour. Please note we would require a portfolio of work from the last six months to be considered for this role.
