Freelance Project Management, Product Development (Contract)

About You

The freelance Project Manager of Product Development will work with the Product Development & Marketing Team to optimize the product packaging, product testing and workstream the product process for planned optimizations, reporting directly to the Director of Product Development. This candidate must be highly organized, detail-oriented, solution-driven and have experience in running timelines and deliverables for product development within the supplement and/or cosmetic categories. The freelance Project Manager of Product Development will work closely in collaboration with Supply Chain, Quality and Regulatory, R&D, Creative and Brand Marketing to manage cross functional work streams and timelines. The position will primarily be a support role focused on execution, and there will be room for growth with the right, strategic-minded candidate. 

Responsibilities

• Own the timelines and due dates of current product update initiatives as outlined, holding all cross functional teams accountable for their deliverables 
• Work with PD managers to prepare creative briefs and own the packaging artwork workstreams through final implementation 
• Support supply chain with management of deliverables for production and timelines 
• Work closely with QA, Supply Chain and R&D to create packaging specifications and guidelines for new procurement
• Make sure all product updates flow through the proper SOP and work as point of contact to get sign offs needed from department heads
• Support PD/QA/RA in clear filing of all artwork, testing results, product documentation
• Manage the logistics, tracking, scheduling of samples going to the right team members and/or vendors in a work from home environment
• Ensure that all team members have the required information and resources to carry out their tasks effectively
• Track projects and clearly communicates urgent matters and the most pertinent information to the Director of Product Development in a timely manner

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in project management of supplements, cosmetics and/or hair care
• Strong follow-through and follow-up ability in order to complete tasks on time
• Works well with other cross functional partners
• Demonstrates a command of Google Sheets or similar, and in tracking & communicating logistics: generates allocations (spreadsheets that designate what goes where, when)
• Clear communication with vendors and suppliers, builds & establishes relationships
• Ability to execute projects in full
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Must be flexible and determined, possessing the ability to handle a multitude of projects and dedication to success
