Big Spaceship is looking for a Freelance Senior Visual Designer. Senior Visual Designers at Big Spaceship work to ensure every design decision from large to small considers form, function, and content within a given context. They know what it takes to envision and build products, platforms, and services from the ground up and how to infuse the most meaningful aspects of a brand into digital ecosystems at scale. They see design as the process of creation, not just as a visual aesthetic.

They are hybrid designers and strategists who sit at the intersection of Business, Design, and Technology, helping to integrate people's needs with business opportunities and technical possibilities.

Roles + Responsibilities:

• Iterate Concepts around Customer Pain Points and Business Objectives (partnering with UX, Strategy, and Engineering Teams).
• Leverage Design Principles derived from concept explorations and strategic opportunity areas.
• Partner with UX to develop Functional Interaction Flows for concepts.
• Design Concepts that tell a specific story through key screens and flows in Figma, creating supporting artifacts that bring concepts to life through prototypes.
• Produce Design Artifacts: Figma flows, Hi-Fidelity Designs (key screens), and prototypes.
• Push the boundaries of an established design system and design solutions that challenge our client to "think bigger".
• Participate in collaborative brainstorms, sketch sessions, design reviews, and other idea-generating design activities.

Requirements

• 5+ years working in the digital product or agency space.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams, leading design projects and managing project workloads.
• Comprehensive understanding of the tools, methods, and processes that enable teams to imagine, create, and iterate digital products, user interfaces, applications, large-scale service experiences, ecosystems and technologies.
• Ability to bring ideas to life through iterative prototyping.
• Ability to work iteratively alongside strategists, designers, copywriters, data analysts, product managers, and engineers.
• A portfolio of work that demonstrates how their ideas have connected people to brands in meaningful ways, connecting business opportunities to people's needs.
• Versed in leveraging KPIs to shape design and product decisions that help create better business and human value and outlining measurable steps needed to reach each.
• Proven ability to manage work effectively.
• Natural ability to present, articulate, and effectively communicate with narrative skills that deliver clear perspectives to others in small or large groups at all levels.
