This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Freelance Startup Recruiter in the United States.
As a Freelance Startup Recruiter, you will play a pivotal role in helping early-stage and scaling startups build high-impact teams. You will own the end-to-end recruiting process, from sourcing top-tier talent to closing critical hires, across multiple startup clients simultaneously. This role offers the opportunity to operate independently within a structured, high-accountability environment, leveraging advanced recruiting tools and AI-enabled platforms. You will collaborate with founders and hiring managers to deliver results that directly influence the growth and success of innovative startups. Accountabilities:

  • Manage multiple concurrent startup searches, typically between 3–9 clients at a time.
  • Own full-cycle recruiting: sourcing, outreach, screening, interview coordination, and candidate management.
  • Provide structured weekly updates, driving momentum and ensuring alignment with client goals.
  • Operate independently while adhering to a proven recruiting process, ensuring high-quality and timely placements.
  • Build and maintain pipelines of technical and commercial talent for early-stage companies.
  • Maintain accurate CRM/ATS records, ensuring consistent data hygiene and reporting.
  • Partner with founders and hiring managers to set expectations and deliver on hiring targets.

  • Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience recruiting in startup environments, ideally from pre-seed to Series C.
  • Proven track record of placing technical and commercial roles for venture-backed startups.
  • Expertise in headhunting, outbound sourcing, and leveraging multiple recruiting channels.
  • Strong familiarity with recruiting tech stacks, including ATS and AI sourcing tools.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and manage founder expectations.
  • Highly self-motivated, independent, and accountable, with a proactive ownership mindset.
  • Knowledge of which channels convert best for specific roles and the ability to apply that insight strategically.
