THE ROLE

Mack Weldon is looking for a Freelance Technical Design Associate to lead the technical fit process including base specs, technical sketches and alignment on fit & design details. This role involves measuring samples accurately and preparing them for fittings, with a keen focus on executing fit comments to ensure product quality. Collaboration with the Production team is crucial to address any quality assurance discrepancies. Additionally, the position requires diligent data entry into the Backbone product system, ensuring accurate and up-to-date product information. The successful candidate will contribute to the introduction of new products seasonally, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate them into the existing workflow.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Lead Technical Fit process; including base specs, technical sketches and alignment on fit & design details
• Create blocks and how to measure guide, and add new products seasonally
• Measure samples and prepare for fittings; execute fit comments
• Partner with Production on QA discrepancies 
• Data entry into Backbone product system
• Hourly rate of $45-50/hr for 2 days a week

WHAT WILL SET YOU UP FOR SUCCESS

• 2-3 years experience in apparel design and production
• Must have Garment construction / pattern creation experience
• Meticulous attention to detail and data accuracy
• Able to proactively identify issues, provide creative solution options and work collaboratively to resolve issues
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Excellent interpersonal skills supporting a team environment
