Fresh Market Manager

Summary

Provide crop, grower, and customer support to Simplot Plant Sciences Commercial Team. This person will assist Plant Sciences Commercial Team with support of both commercial and seed crops. Under general supervision will apply appropriate methodologies, techniques, and practices to provide technical support in all aspects of potato production and storage management in support of commercial grower's crop. Also, provide same support to assist Plant Sciences in their commercial potato seed growing. Will also assist in industry events and trade shows where they will be engaging with customers, growers and marketers. Works with Plant Sciences Commercial Team and liaison with Plant Sciences R&D Agronomy Team.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain great relationships with Plant Sciences commercial growers and contract seed growers.
• Support growers with commercial varieties.
• Assist in production of all generations of high quality seed.
• Attend industry conferences, shows, field days, and positively interact with customers, growers, marketers, shippers, and other industry representatives.
• Accurately track seed sales and shipments.
• Assist in tracking all seed generation inventory.
• Proven track record in Customer Relations
• Assist with seed shipping.

Typical Education

Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a 4 year college or university

Relevant Experience

5+ years related experience and/or training

Other Information

• Must have agricultural experience and exhibit understanding of agronomic basics in irrigation, nutrient management, and pest management.
• Prefer experience with potato production, and storage management.
• Intermediate mathematics and statistical skills. Public speaking and presentation skills are needed to effectively communicate formal presentations. Ability to analyze and present data sets into useful information.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of programs, and Power BI or equivalent.
• Self-driven, autonomous worker.
