Bixal is seeking a Communications Specialist for the USAID/Uganda Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (UMEL) Activity. This program supports USAID/Uganda and its partners by strengthening MEL processes, conducting high-quality evaluations, knowledge-sharing, and adaptive management to improve programmatic decision-making in the country.
What will you do?
- Support the administration function of the operations and administration department by managing the front desk of the Uganda MEL Activity. The Administration Assistant will report directly to the Senior Administrative Assistant.
Responsibilities and Tasks
- Welcome and screen guests as they arrive at the office.
- Direct Visitors to the appropriate persons and offices.
- Ensure that the reception area is tidy and presentable with all the necessary stationery and materials e.g. pens, registration forms and brochures.
- Receive sort and distribute daily mail/ deliveries
- Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling access via the reception through monitoring the visitor’s logbook and issuance of visitors’ badges.
- Perform other support functions like filing and photocopying for the various departments.
- Support physical inventory and Assets counts and stock taking.
- Support the Senior Administrative Assistant to ensure meetings at the Learning Hub are conducted flawlessly
- Support the Operations team to review receipts and invoices brought by vendors
Qualifications
- High School diploma
- English language fluency
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Customer service
