Job Title: Front Desk Receptionist – Grooming Shop
Position Summary:
The Front Desk Receptionist is the first point of contact for customers at our grooming shop. This role is responsible for welcoming pet parents, checking in pets for grooming appointments, gathering accurate information, and ensuring smooth communication between clients and the grooming team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Greet customers and their pets warmly upon arrival.
• Check in pets for grooming appointments using our scheduling system.
• Collect and confirm necessary information, including pet details, grooming instructions, health or behavior notes, and special requests.
• Communicate clearly with groomers about each pet’s needs.
• Answer phones, schedule appointments, and provide information about services, pricing, and policies.
• Process payments, issue receipts, and manage basic front desk transactions.
• Maintain a clean and welcoming reception area.
• Handle customer questions, concerns, or complaints in a professional and friendly manner.
• Assist with record-keeping, reminder calls, and follow-ups as needed.
• Ensure the safety and comfort of pets and their owners during check-in and check-out.
Qualifications:
• Previous customer service or receptionist experience preferred (pet industry experience a plus).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable interacting with animals of all sizes and temperaments.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer and point-of-sale (POS) system skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and friendly attitude.
Work Environment:
• Indoor front desk/reception area of a grooming shop.
• Frequent interaction with pets (dogs and cats primarily).
• Some standing, bending, or lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 30 per week
Shift availability:
• Day Shift (Preferred)
