Front-End Engineer (React)

We are searching for a passionate Front-End Engineer to join our Software Engineering team and lead front-end engineering on our core software product. You'll work closely with our data scientists and product design team to translate ideas into captivating, interactive experiences. We work with extraordinary data sets: enormous volumes and varieties. This data needs to be effectively conveyed to users—all via a compelling front-end React application. We're looking for a hungry, fast-learning individual to spearhead this effort.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate extensively with the product design team to bring wireframes and visual designs to life as compelling React applications.
• Write clean, modular, well-documented, and reusable React code, prioritizing efficient development and deployment.
• Leverage your React expertise to create performant and pixel-perfect user interfaces.
• Adhere to cross-browser compatibility best practices while maintaining a focus on user experience consistency across different platforms.

Desired Skills

• 2+ years of professional experience using React and its ecosystem (Redux, etc.)
• In-depth knowledge of JavaScript fundamentals, including asynchronous programming, closures, and modern ES6+ features.
• Strong understanding of state management solutions in React applications.
• Experience with performance optimization techniques for web applications.
• Experience building reusable UI components with a focus on maintainability and scalability.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with designers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
• Passion for learning new technologies and staying up-to-date with the latest trends in front-end development.

Bonus Points

• Experience writing unit and integration tests for React components.
• Experience working with data visualization libraries like D3, Vega, or similar tools.
• Prior experience with server-side technologies (especially Python development) is a plus.
• Contributions to open-source React projects are admired.
