Global Technology and Operations (GTO) business has embarked on a major transformation of its technology platforms to deliver modern global financial solutions to our clients across Capital Markets, Wealth Management, and Asset Management.

We are seeking a leader within the newly formed Solution Acceleration Team to enable the accelerated adoption of new front toolkits, frameworks and best practice.

The ideal candidate will have extensive design, architecture and implementation of emerging front-end technologies, knowledge of next gen cloud technologies and services, and a proven track record of building mission critical, highly scalable systems. In addition to strong technical knowledge, you will be someone who thrives in a fast-paced start up-like environment, and passionate about solving ambiguous, challenging problems that have not been solved and loves building teams.

We are made up of high performing teams that meet in person to learn and collaborate as needed. This role is considered hybrid, which means you'll be assigned to a Broadridge office and given the flexibility to work remote.

The Senior Front-End Engineering Lead will be Responsible for the overall direction and execution of GTO's Frontend Platform strategy and architecture, including:

  • Developing and implementing front-end architecture to support user interface concepts
  • Core libraries and components as part of our Design System for future reuse
  • Common patterns for data access, state management, and code organization across all of GTO Frontend Engineering
  • Continuous integration and deployment of all frontend code across GTO's environments
  • Reviewing and supporting frontend technical designs across teams
  • Participating in design discussions and roadmap planning to ensure frontend concerns are well represented
  • Driving forward GTO's frontend community, including mentorship of frontend talent across the organization
  • They will work closely with engineers across the application and platforms teams and the rest of the engineering org to evolve the frontend platform to provide the bedrock for future feature delivery
  • Ensure code quality and interface reliability by adhering to internal standards and thoroughly testing applications
  • Attract, Build and Retain a "best in class" team of front-engineers to be deployed against projects as needs arise, providing on-going support, mentorship, and training to ensure quality and consistency

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years' relevant software development experience, including experience leading development teams and solving complex problems for business functions
  • Computer Science & Engineering degree is a plus, but not required
  • Significant expertise in product software development, with a passion to remain 'hands on'
  • Understanding of testing strategies and methodologies, exposure to test harnesses like Karma or Jest is a plus.
  • Expert level experience with at least one reasonably popular JavaScript framework (e.g. Angular, React, Backbone, Ember, Vue, Svelte)
  • UI/front-end tools and frameworks, APIs, relational databases and other persistence technologies, integration tools and strategies, etc.
  • Experience consuming APIs in front end technologies.
  • Understanding of Cloud offerings (AWS) and capabilities
  • Strong software design & development principles, with a focus on system stability, reusability and performance optimized for a global audience
  • Experience leveraging DevOps tools and principles
  • Building reusable components and front-end libraries for future use
  • Comfortable working with and building highly scalable and resilient enterprise-grade applications and solutions.
  • Experience with Java, or writing code for the server in another object-oriented language
  • Bring a data-driven approach to decision making, both in day-to-day management and in making strategic trade-offs.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and personal skills: ability to interact and work well with members of other functional groups in a project team and a strong sense of project ownership
  • Proven experience mentoring other team members, balancing individually tailored stretch goals with patient, compassionate line management
  • Experience in Agile Methodologies, establishing a culture of continuous improvement, understanding, and applying "servant leader" mindset
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and comfort working within rapidly changing environment
  • Committing to cross-functional collaboration to achieve the best results for the organization.
