Front End Lead Developer - Web Analytics (Remote - U.S.)

Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Developer specializing in Technical SEO, Web Analytics, and Web Performance to join our dynamic team. As the Lead Developer, you will play a pivotal role in driving the technical direction and execution of our website's front end, focusing on web analytics integration, web page performance for a new eCommerce website and search engine optimization (SEO). This is a contract position with a duration of approximately 6 months with a possibility for extension.

What You Can Do For Us: 

• Web Analytics Integration:

  • Integrate and configure web analytics tools tailored for eCommerce (e.g., Google Analytics enhanced eCommerce tracking) to gather insights into user behavior, product performance, and sales funnel effectiveness.
  • Develop custom tracking solutions to measure and report on eCommerce-specific metrics, conversion rates, cart abandonment, and user interactions.
  • Experience with Implementations, feature enhancements, and integrity management of web tagging.

  Marketing Data Integration:

  • Strong experience in marketing tag implementations
  • Experience working with marketing/digital/CRM data, including working with consumer data and orchestration to key downstream tools such as email, CDP, Testing/Personalization
  • Leads solutioning for new capabilities in this space. Comfortable driving recommendations and documenting architecture

  Web Performance Optimization:

  • Lead efforts to optimize web page performance to ensure fast loading times and smooth interactions.
  • Implement and monitor Core Web Vitals, including Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), First Input Delay (FID), and Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS), to meet Google's page experience criteria.
  • Collaborate with developers and designers to minimize render-blocking resources, optimize images, and enhance overall site speed.

  Front End Development:

  • Architect, design, and develop responsive and user-friendly front end solutions that align with the latest web standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers to transform designs into functional and visually appealing web pages.
  • Implement interactive elements and dynamic content to enhance user engagement and experience.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship on Technical SEO to the front end development team and QA teams
  • Identify and troubleshoot technical issues related to front end development, technical SEO, web analytics, and web performance, proposing effective solutions.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including UI/UX, Product, Data Analysts, content, backend development, and marketing

  Technical SEO Implementation:

  • Lead the development and execution of technical SEO strategies specific to eCommerce, enhancing product visibility, crawlability, indexability, and overall search engine visibility
  • Address technical issues that may impact SEO performance (e.g., site speed, mobile-friendliness, structured data, crawlability, and canonicalization).
  • Collaborate with backend developers to implement schema markup, product-rich snippets, XML sitemaps creation and submission, robots.txt optimization hreflang attributes and structured data.
  • Optimization of website structure, metadata, URL structure, and internal linking.
  • Schema markup implementation for enhanced search engine results.
  • Implementation of best practices for URL canonicalization, redirects, and error handling.

Desired Skills & Experience: 

• Proven experience (5+ years) in Front end Development optimizing web page performance, implementing web data layer for analytics and Technical SEO
• Knowledge of tools like PageSpeed Insights, Lighthouse, and WebPageTest
• Highly fluent in leveraging tag management tools. Expertise in Google Tag manager a plus
• Understanding of Core Web Vitals and their impact on user experience and SEO rankings.
• Expertise in HTML, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, JQuery and APIs.
• Experience with ReactJS and NextJS SSR for eCommerce specific pages.
• Experience with CMS platform, ContentStack or Contentful.
• Familiarity with techniques to reduce server response time, minimize render-blocking resources, and improve overall site responsiveness.
• Experience with eCommerce-specific analytics and tracking tools, including event tracking, funnel analysis, and transaction attribution.
• Experience with Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) and caching strategies for improved page load times.
