Role Snapshot

The Front End UI Developer will partner with colleagues to deliver user interface and experience (UI /EX) solutions for our customer facing applications using content management technology. This person will assist with the design, creation, deployment, and maintenance of system solutions. You will need to demonstrate effective communication skills to interpret needs of clients, collaborate with peers to deliver quality solutions, and coordinate with other Information Systems teams.

  • Analyze and prepare specifications and documentation according to department standards. Code, test, and integrate applications.
  • Provide in-depth analysis, design, and support for department applications and programs.
  • Help by assisting in research and issue resolution for processing of business data.
  • Communicate effectively and regularly (both verbal and written) with coworkers, clients, and project managers.
  • Translate technical details into business terminology to bridge gaps between clients and IT.
  • Are there to provide daytime and nighttime production support for applications to exhibit positive customer service.
  • Work as an important technical lead on medium and large development efforts.
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance teams during the testing of applications.
  • Peer review and provide feedback on code and technical documents for other team members.
  • Utilize source control software to maintain integrity of production software, including prior versions of code.
  • Follow defined Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Change Control processes.
  • Coordinate and plan development activities with other teams, e.g. database management, infrastructure configuration, quality assurance testing.
  • Provide technical assistance to clients in a professional and accommodating manner.
  • Take leadership role on moderately complex projects independently or as part of a larger project team.
  • Handle multiple competing initiatives and escalate issues effectively.
  • Have the knowledge of front-end build systems.
  • Possess experience with CSS pre-processors ( LESS).
  • Have knowledge of responsive website design frameworks, specifically Bootstrap.
  • Are confident in your knowledge of Javascript with familiarity of JQuery or AngularJS/React.
  • Have had significant experience of debugging using JavaScript-based tools like Chrome Developer Console.
  • Have had beneficial experience using AJAX and client side templates (Mustache, Handlebrs, Dust) to build web pages.

Minimum Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship is required for this position due to Department of Defense restrictions.
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent post high school and/or related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on and with WPS systems and tools.
  • 3 or more years of experience in Information Systems performing development work OR a combination of relevant experience.
  • 3 or more years of experience as a front-end developer.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Experience with user interface design practices and tools (Adobe XD, Photoshop).
  • Experience with Git source code repository.

Salary Range

$70,000 - $110,000

The base pay offered for this position may vary within the posted range based on your job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may fall outside the posted range.

Remote Worker Requirements
