Front End Web Developer

At Compulse, our web department builds websites for clients all around the country. We are looking for an experienced front-end web developer specializing in responsive development for WordPress websites. This ideal candidate thrives with problem solving and is able to promptly solve web-related bugs and design issues with client websites. We are looking for someone who is organized, professional with clients, self-managed, and enjoys working in team settings.

Responsibilities:

WEBSITES

• Front-end website design within our WordPress environment and in accordance to contracts
• Writing HTML and CSS code for various front-end elements
• Must be able to troubleshoot and resolve design issues with websites
• Complete projects with attention to detail, free of mistakes, and follow outlined requirements
• Work with design programs if needed to assist with existing website maintenance

COMMUNICATION, CLIENT INTERACTION AND EXPERIECE

• Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
• Must be comfortable participating in discussions with external clients, sales leaders and department team members
• Must be able to recommend optimal solutions to problems
• Must be comfortable working one-on-one with clients to discuss project needs and resolve issues

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience with web design in a professional environment
• Competency in typing out code for responsive web components in HTML and CSS
• Understanding the"WordPress Loop" and how to write front-end code that can be generated within it
• Effective and professional communication skills with clients
• Experience managing projects directly through life-cycle and post-launch support
• Ability to troubleshoot, problem solve and communicate resolutions effectively
• Able to transfer wirefreames into working designs

Required Skillset:

• Demonstrated portfolio showcasing previous client work or freelance
• WordPress 5.x and above, including experience with Gutenberg block editor
• HTML and CSS
• Ability to create a WordPress template
• Comfortable with integrating WordPress plugins
• Knowledge of useable HTML elements within email clients
• Experience with web oriented IDE such as Visual Studio or another text editor
• Basic knowledge of programs within Adobe Creative Cloud: Illustrator, Photoshop, and XD
• Understanding of Google Analytics
• MS 365 (Office) - Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word

Desired Skillset:

• Awareness of WordPress plugins that can augment production output.
• SASS
• Version control using GIT
• Knowledge of social networking platforms, SEO and mobile initiatives
• Ability to design websites or basic understanding of design programs
