Frontend Developer

Position Overview:

ShyftLabs is seeking a talented Senior React Developer to join our growing team. In this role, you will design, build, maintain, and improve software products and services with frontend components, focusing on crafting interactive applications using React and Next.js. Your responsibilities will also include sophisticated coding, testing, debugging, resolving complex bugs, enhancing performance, and updating software.

Job Responsibilities

• Design and implement stable, high-performance SaaS products using frontend technologies like React and Next.js.
• Own and manage a complex set of internal/external services and data sets.
• Execute full SDLC, including design, build, documentation, unit/functional/load testing, and deployment of APIs, UIs, applications, and infrastructure.
• Tackle latency and throughput challenges in data processing and request serving.
• Design and develop large-scale enterprise data service applications to handle billions of data points weekly.
• Identify enhancement opportunities in existing software, including addressing latency and throughput challenges.
• Set up efficient operational processes, including continuous deployment pipelines (CI/CD), test automation, and monitoring/alerts.
• Actively participate in design discussions, team planning, and code reviews, providing constructive feedback for improvement.
• Troubleshoot software failures using debugging techniques, reviewing code errors, log files, and metrics.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers on software development and operational excellence.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 4+ years of professional development experience with React and Next.js.
• 2+ years of experience building REST/GraphQL APIs.
• Proficiency in state management libraries such as Redux, Zustand, and Redux Toolkit.
• Experience with AWS services including S3, SQS, CloudFront, SNS, ECS, EC2, Route 53, Lambda, and Kinesis.
• Expertise in database technologies such as MongoDB, DynamoDB, MySQL, Postgres, and RDS.
• Experience with Elasticsearch/OpenSearch.
• Strong understanding of design approaches and data structures, and when to apply them.
• Knowledge of software maintenance characteristics, runtime properties, and dependencies.
• Ability to optimize compute resources, including hardware, database, memory, and CPU.
• Hands-on experience testing complex software systems.
• Experience working with Agile methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a desire to learn new tools and technologies.
• Proficiency in writing SQL and working with large datasets containing billions of records.
