Rotunda is seeking a detail-oriented frontend developer to help create a new generation of software tools for non-profits. Our flagship products are actively used by over 3,500 organizations and one million volunteers. The person who fills this position will develop rich user interfaces for these well-established products while also crafting brand new tools to help non-profits make the world a better place. Our modularized frontend framework is built using open source tools developed at Rotunda in conjunction with James Halliday (a.k.a @substack). The view layer of this framework is composed of . Beneath this library is a unique in-memory database and a GraphQL-like query language that powers a layer of isomorphic application logic. The individual who fills this position will be able to learn, leverage, and iterate on these unique and powerful tools.

Responsibilities

• Participate in three week, self-regulated development sprints
• Learn, leverage, and curate our proprietary frontend framework
• Implement elegant, intricate, and responsive user experiences using advanced JavaScript
• Write well structured HTML (using Nunjucks) and CSS (using SASS) for pages and components
• Creatively resolve UX puzzles, filling in gaps in mockups and formal requirements
• Carefully track action items to maintain the efficiency of the team
• Help design and develop new frameworks and components

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
• At least 3 years of working experience with JavaScript, HTML & CSS
• An eye for detail, a sense of aesthetics, and a love for polished user experiences
• Strong technical skills, an open mind, and a hunger for challenges
• Advanced Proficiency in English
• A desire to do great work on meaningful products
