Frontend Senior Staff Engineer

FabFitFun is seeking a Frontend Senior Staff Engineer to join our growing tech team and lead the platform strategy for our React frontends. This engineer will report to our VP of Engineering and play a key role in shaping the future of FabFitFun’s client-side software.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead the cross-domain technical strategy for the frontend platform
• Set standards and best practices across all frontend teams
• Deliver not just high quality solutions but also high quality code
• Nurture technical values that promote iterative, autonomous development
• Embrace observability and data telemetry to help make decisions
• Champion automation and reduce toil
• Collaborate with frontend (and backend) engineers, engineering managers, project and product managers to deliver technical capabilities that unlock consumer-facing roadmaps
• Review cross-team prioritization, dependencies, and alignment to help technical teams coordinate smoothly
• Help productize the platform and market technical initiatives across the organization

What You’ll Bring:

• At least six years working in React (hopefully 10+ in technology generally)
• A deep understanding of the React ecosystem and libraries commonly used with it, like Redux, Webpack, Babel…
• Engineering experience and instincts that you leverage to promote technical excellence on all engineering teams
• A love of coaching, mentorship, and sponsorship. You’ll accelerate our culture of pedagogy and teaching
• Extensive knowledge of performance optimization and scalability techniques
• Excellent listening and communication skills
• You know the value of diverse teams and diverse thinking in highly cognitive fields and know how to make space for varied communication styles and unusual ideas
• You’ve worked in startups and “fast-paced” isn’t just a buzz term for you

Bonus Points:

• LA-based, or somewhere close
• Experience working in ecommerce at scale
• DevOps chops

Location: 

• Our FabFitFun HQ is based in West Hollywood, CA
• FFF is currently operating in a hybrid model coming into the office 3x a week
• This role offers some flexibility and ideally would be able to commute to HQ once week, and reside/work in the Pacific Time zone 

Compensation:

• The expected base salary range for this position is $210- $235K
• The compensation package will also include an initial equity grant, bonus, in addition to a range of generous medical, dental, vision and other perks & benefits
• Compensation decisions are determined using a variety of job-related factors such as skill set, geographic location, market demands, experience, and education / certifications. If we extend an offer for employment, we will consider all individual qualifications
