The Shipping Lead is responsible for leading the Shipping team members in the execution of daily activities, including but not limited to processing all available shipments, supporting production in processing completed material into shipping and managing shipping issues resulting from quality or order entry issues.
Position Responsibilities:
- Process all available shipments, manually and systematically to maintain an acceptable on-time delivery standard.
- Monitor various reports to eliminate missed shipments.
- Monitor and address shipping issues by taking corrective action or working with support team to correct known issue preventing an order to be shipped.
- Train, mentor, and coach Material Specialists (Shipping team) in processes to ensure compliance of procedures.
- Monitor, update, and report on trends for shipping standards and issues utilizing spreadsheets and other work tools.
- Handles complex issues and research regarding shipping orders and freight methods.
- Recommends and leads projects to reduce cost and drive productivity within the department while achieving site specific goals.
- Ensure timely movement of material from production into storage and set for delivery.
- Ensure all functions are performed safely
- Operates material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and forklifts
- Ensure all shipping documents are accurately filed and maintained to ensure appropriate compliance.
- Assist in creating, implementing, and maintaining standard work.
- Performs other duties as assigned

- In-depth knowledge of computerized integrated information systems (manufacturing, materials management).

- Must possess a strong customer service orientation and must provide dedicated support of internal customer requirements.
- Must possess strong organizational skills, with ability to work on multiple priorities at once.
- Must have solid interpersonal skills to interact with various departments throughout the organization
Experience and Skills Required:
- Experience with Oracle or other MRP software in areas of shipping and materials.
- Microsoft Office - Excel, Outlook, Word
- Material handling equipment
- Product knowledge a plus
- Strong communication skills
