Job Description

We are looking for a Full-stack Developer to produce scalable software solutions. You will be part of a cross-functional team responsible for the full software development life cycle, from conception to deployment. As a full-stack developer, you should be comfortable with back-end and front-end coding languages, development frameworks, and third-party libraries.

Your focus will be on backend development with some frontend development as well. You should also be a team player with a knack for application development and data processing.

Responsibilities:
  • Full-stack development using Java stack
  • Write and maintain clear, secure, extensible, and scalable code within the Java stack
  • Collaborate with and across software development teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in full-stack tools and technologies
  • Work with product owners to understand desired initiatives and implement application capabilities
  • Maintain knowledge of market trends and development in web application development framework and related, emerging technologies to provide, recommend, and deliver best practice solutions
  • Working knowledge of AWS platform and services
  • Work with development teams and product managers to design software solutions
  • Develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications.
  • Write effective APIs - Extend and integrate with front-end applications
  • Test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software
  • Create security and data protection settings
  • Write technical documentation


Requirements

  • Proven experience as a full stack developer in a similar role
  • Eight (8) years of Java experience - required
  • Ten (10+)years of experience in software development
  • Three (3+) years of JavaScript / React experience
  • Working knowledge of cloud concepts - AWS experience or other Cloud technology experience
  • One (1) year of hands-on experience with JIRA, a sprint planning/development and project management tracking tool
  • Knowledge of JMS, JSF, and Spring framework
  • Experience working with a Version Control system (preferably Git) - basic familiarity with CI/CD integration - using branching/merge approaches
  • Knowledge of multiple front-end languages and libraries (e.g., HTML/ CSS, JavaScript, Json)
  • Knowledge of back-end languages (e.g., Java) and JavaScript frameworks (e.g., any one of Angular, React, Node.js)
  • Familiarity with databases (e.g., Oracle, Postgres, MySQL), and web servers (e.g., Apache)
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Degree in an IT/Data-related field

General:
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload based on the needs of the client
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and frequent changes in priorities
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent technical writing skills and proven experience on systems with complex requirements
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills with the ability to team with others to meet project objectives
  • Understanding of the system development lifecycle as implemented with Agile, SAFe knowledge a plus

THIS POSITION REQUIRES RESIDENCY IN MARYLAND OR NORTHERN VIRGINIA and is PARTIAL REMOTE 2 DAYS A WEEK. THIS POSITION IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR A FULL REMOTE SCHEDULE.
