Job Description

The Red Gate Group is seeking a skilled Full Stack Developer to support the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) in Reston, VA. As a full stack developer, you won’t just write code—you’ll have the opportunity to shape transformative systems from the ground up. In a fast-paced, agile environment, you'll take ownership of developing solutions that not only address immediate challenges but are also built to evolve with future needs. Your expertise will guide the creation of software and systems from vision to production, ensuring that every solution is scalable, efficient, and integrated seamlessly into existing environments. By continually learning new tools and techniques, you’ll stay ahead of emerging technologies and identify opportunities to improve the systems you develop. Working closely with clients and the team, you’ll help overcome complex problems, creating lasting, impactful solutions that drive real change.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with software development
• Experience with back-end development 
• Experience with TypeScript or JavaScript
• Experience with Node.js JavaScript runtime environment and the Express framework
• Experience with SQL syntax and queries
• Experience with API development including REST architectures
• Knowledge of Agile methodology
• TS/SCI Clearance

Desire Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience with developing backend software applications or services
• 2+ years of experience with developing in a microservices architecture
• Experience with React, Next.js
• Experience with testing frameworks and code quality tools, such as Jest and SonarQube
• Experience with user authentication workflows, including OAuth 2.0 framework and OpenID Connect
• Experience with Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) packages, such as Sequelize
• Knowledge of JIRA, Git, GitLab
• Ability to understand user requirements
• Ability to investigate root causes and provide corrective actions
• DoD 8570 Compliant Security+ or CISSP certification
