Basic Function

Candidate will review and provide guidance for the various technical projects of the Global Technology Services (GTS) team. This position will be a developer position in technical track and not have any direct reports, rather focus strictly on technology and application development in the LYB environment. The role will work with product team managers and with technical leads to design and implement technical solutions. The position will perform the day-to-day duties on the team, work on call, etc. This role will be integral to an agile development team tasked with the design, development and support of cloud-based application design, delivery, and automation with cloud-first mindset to assure faster development, value realization, and better customer experience.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, support, and maintain multi-tier solutions based on business requirements primarily using application code for cloud solutions.
• Monitor and debug production systems and work to continuously improve availability, performance, and quality.
• Achieve automation & orchestration of tools and workloads around multiple cloud platforms
• Follow development policies, standards, and guidelines for application development, change management and support to ensure quality, consistency, and reliability.
• Understand business requirements, design solutions to meet those requirements, estimate complexity for implementation and decompose epics and stories into technical implementation tasks.
• Stay current on LyondellBasell IT strategies and standards and influence customers in support of the strategies and standards
• Participate in the team's work at all levels of the architecture
• Evaluate and integrate security protocols into existing software applications and programs
• Stay informed on new tools and best practices of the industry
• Provide technical project and architecture documentation
• Attend training and maintain relevant industry certifications

Min. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in related field, e.g. Computer Science, Information Technology or Engineering
• 2+ years of software development experience in .NET and SQL technologies.
• Involved in full application development lifecycle (i.e. requirements gathering, functional and technical design, development, build, installation, documentation, and code management).
• Hands-on experience developing Web applications, Web Services using Service Oriented Architecture.
• Experience working within an Agile development environment.
• Experiences with design-driven development, continuous deployment, highly scalable applications, application security
• Excellent and professional communication skills (written and verbal) with an ability to articulate complex topics in a clear and concise manner.

Technology Experience (REQUIRED):

• Building Web Apps and Rest APIs in .NET, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, Ajax, Bootstrap
• Development in SQL Server (Tables, Schema, Stored Procedures, functions, Cursors, triggers etc.)
• Entity Framework Awareness
• Experience with project, collaboration, and source code management tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitLab
• Experience developing and deploying applications

Preferred Qualifications

• Developing apps for cloud Platforms such as Azure (preferred), AWS.
• API Testing (value add) (Postman, Automated Testing for UI and back-end)
• Deep knowledge and understanding of SDKs, command line interface, containerization, and CI/CD
• Strong UI design exposure and experience in making web apps work intuitively.
• Hands-on experience in tuning and enhancing front-end Performance
• Advanced JavaScript libraries and frameworks, such as Vue.js, AngularJS, ReactJS etc.
• UI design exposure and experience in making web apps work intuitively.
