Full Stack Developer, FinOps

Role Overview

We are looking for an ambitious, enthusiastic, and driven Full Stack Developer to join the FinOps team in London. The team works very closely with our business users (Traders, Treasury, Finance, Operations and other development teams) and this role represents a great opportunity for someone to come in and learn a lot about the business. This role will suit someone that enjoys the direct business interaction, is delivery focused and works well under pressure.

The three main elements of the position include

• Owning the development of new in-house systems.
• As a business aligned team part of your role is to communicate with business users to capture new requirements and collaborate on change projects.
• Support & maintain software built by the team.

Responsibilities

• Taking responsibility for writing high-quality, testable code on various platforms.
• Ability to write both back and front-end code and be comfortable with front end development.
• Performance optimisation of .NET applications and SQL.
• Evaluating cutting-edge technologies and integrating effectively into our in-house systems.
• Responding to and fixing Production issues.
• Contributing to and offering ideas to System Architecture Design discussions

Requirements

• A passion for development and demonstrable experience working with a variety of platforms.
• Knowledge of Financial Operations platforms.
• An ability to prioritise and manage own time, over multiple work streams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Demonstrable project ownership, taking from conception to production.
• Experience working closely with business teams to formulate requirements.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Exceptional communication skills.

Technology Requirements

• Exceptional object-oriented developer (C# .Net background preferable)
• SQL Server and data analytical skills
• Thorough understanding of object orientated programming, computing fundamentals and data structures
• Ability to deliver all aspects of a project from start to finish unassisted
• Experience with test driven development and continuous integration
• Ability to pick up systems/new technologies and quickly get up to speed
• Ability to diagnose faults and remedy under time pressure

Additional beneficial skills or experience

• Experience with stream processing (Kafka, Flink)
• Experience with other programming languages Java, Scala, F#
• Kubernetes/OpenShift/Docker, helm templates
• Experience with Web technologies (HTML, JavaScript Frameworks e.g., Vue, React, Angular, CSS, less)
• Financial Markets experience - Equities, FX, Options, & Fixed Income trading
