Full Stack Developer Internship - Summer 2023

Hudson River Trading is looking for highly motivated full-time students for our Full Stack Developer summer internship program. We are looking for smart programmers who love to code, love to learn, and thrive as  self-starters in a high-performance environment. At HRT, coders are integral to the success of our trading, and they know it. You can always expect to be challenged by the ever-changing financial markets, and find yourself working on critical software in an extremely fast-paced, real-time environment.

As a Full Stack Dev Intern, you’ll be automating business logic, improving the quality of our web-based tooling, and creating user-friendly interfaces. Your work will have you interacting with almost every team at HRT, including Finance and Accounting, Business Development, Middle Office, Algo, and Operations. You’ll develop a deep knowledge of Python, Javascript/Typescript, and React alongside amazing developers who are honing their skills every day.

Note that this role is only available in our Chicago office. 

Requirements

• Excellent design, debugging, and problem solving skills
• Understanding of CS fundamentals
• Knowledge of UX fundamentals
• Programming experience with Python
• Working experience with Javascript (Typescript is a bonus) and modern React

Profile

• You are a full-time student in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• You will be graduating and looking for full-time roles in December 2023 or later; students in their penultimate year are preferred, but all students are welcome to apply
• You can look at code, figure out how it works, and identify how to make it better
• You have the ability to navigate large interconnected projects while still paying close attention to details
• You are comfortable communicating about technical topics with non-technical people
