Why this role matters

• The Software Engineer is responsible for designing and developing a next-generation, cloud-based unified communications platform. This role is expected to have full-stack development experience with strong knowledge of developing applications end-to-end including application development, databases, cloud-based technologies, APIs and more. It is a very dynamic environment with fast paced turnaround times involving interactions with other team members, product managers, QA and Ops resources in an agile environment.

What you will do

• Design and develop a wide-range of distributed, robust real-time and high-volume production applications for UCaaS platform, and develop prototypes quickly.
• Mentor other team members on design and development.
• Practical experience and good understanding with Git, automation around building, testing and releasing software.
• Ability to choose the appropriate technology based on the need.
• Develop software using best practices including aspects of test, deployment and operations.
• Apply innovative thinking to all functions of development.
• Ability to complete individual tasks end-to-end independently but working with a larger team to accomplish bigger objectives.

What you will bring

• Any front-end framework hands-on experience, Angular is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with Java or Python
• Hands-on experience with relational DBs and NoSQL
• Hands-on experience with AWS

What is required for application

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• 6+ years of experience in full stack development, front-end frameworks (Angular experience is a plus but not mandatory), Javascript, Java, Python, Typescript, NodeJs,CSS is required
• Experience in architecting and leading web applications.
• Experience in leading designs of major software components, applications, features.
• Strong experience in building API products - experience with REST
• Extensive experience with a major cloud provider, AWS preferred
• Experience with NoSQL and relational databases.
• Experience with a real time data streaming on Kinesis or Kafka
• Experience in Developing, deploying, and debugging cloud-based applications preferably AWS
• Experience with CI/CD
• Experience with version control systems like Git
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Demonstrates a sense of urgency in all tasks
• Experience with DevOps practices
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Highly organized with strong analytical and communication skills

Desirable

• Experience with Agile Development methodologies
• Experience with planning and tracking applications such as Jira and Confluence 
• Mobile development (iOS / Android)
