Full Stack Engineer

Overview

R-Zero is a combines best-in-class IoT-enabled sensors, UV-C technology and connected data to create an ecosystem unparalleled in efficacy and sustainability to fundamentally change the health of any building. We are looking for a Full Stack NodeJS Developer to join the Software Engineering team at R-Zero.

This is a hybrid work location position with a minimum of one to two days per week in our San Francisco and Menlo Park offices.

Responsibilities

As part of the Software Engineering team, you will be responsible for, and have ownership of, developing, iterating on and releasing software across our stack of disinfection solutions. 

For example, we offer APIs to service our disinfection devices in the field; statistical analysis of the efficacy of these devices; customer facing APIs for our customers to integrate their disinfection data with their own solutions; and a new, cutting edge, SaaS solution for our customers to manage their healthy buildings.

Key Responsibilities

• Working with development teams and product managers to develop solutions for stakeholders
• Working on both the server and client side to deliver these solutions
• Working with time series data
• Writing efficient APIs
• Mobile first web development
• Troubleshooting, investigation and resolution of customer issues
• Implementing all software in a secure fashion
• Implementing effective changes to data storage
• Working with the QA team to ensure your solutions are to the level our customers expect
• Working with the DevOps team to ensure efficient infrastructure is available for your solutions
• Writing technical documentation to cover your solutions

Requirements

• Must be based in the Bay Area
• 5-10 years of experience minimum

We are firm believers in over-communicating. We are fully remote, and over-communication is one of our core principles. This means asking any question you may have, no matter how small it is; speaking up when you have concerns, ideas or feedback and documenting technical information. We are also firm believers in convention over configuration. We try to keep our stacks as similar as possible across our projects. You should be able to ramp up on any new project very quickly as a result, and we are always open to improving this process. All of this means that our development life cycle is predictable and efficient, but we are always aware that we can improve. We are always open to new solutions, processes and technologies as long as they help us achieve our goals efficiently.  As a full stack developer, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of products/features, and have an impact on the technical solution, architecture and implementation of these. You will also have an opportunity to learn new technologies, such as React Native, if you wish.
