Job Description Summary:

PayPal seeks an UI engineer for its Giving Platform team in Guatemala. In this role you will be working with a team of engineers to build the next generation Giving and Fundraising experiences/products. The PayPal Giving Platform team builds donation and fundraising products that connects hundreds of thousands of non-profits, millions of donors and tens of Partner marketplaces at a global scale to drive good for the community whilst meeting the company’s business objectives.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, developing, and testing of features and functions delivered via applications and services
  • Developing quality artifacts - Test Planning, Test execution and Test Automation
  • Working in an Agile environment with a focus on problem solving and engineering excellence
  • Collaborating with peers and senior engineers/architects both within the team and across the organization to create technical solutions
  • Working with product managers using Agile methodologies to deliver high quality user experiences that delight PayPal’s customers
  • Working with the operations teams to ensure your applications and services are highly available and reliable

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in UI programming for large scale web/ecommerce/payment sites
  • Expert in Client-side and Server-side Javascript programming
  • Proficient in web front-end technologies - HTML5/CSS/JavaScript/NodeJS/React
  • Proficient in modern database/storage technologies
  • Competent in designing and building web applications and/or web services in a commercial setting
  • Competent in design/implementation for reliability, availability, scalability and performance
  • Competent in software engineering tools and best practices
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
