About the team

Block B2B is an ambitious, entrepreneurial team building a new product from 0 to 1 to make contractors’ lives easier, their jobs more predictable, and their companies more successful. As small business owners, construction contractors have a wide range of growth, financing, and admin needs outside of actual construction. By building modern, user-centric solutions for these aspects of their business, we’ll unburden contractors and dramatically improve the renovation industry. 

We are looking for a product-focused engineer that is passionate about building high-polish user experiences. In this role, you’ll work on a small team operating like an early stage startup with the benefit of being backed by a Series C funding.

You will work in a high-velocity environment to develop our new product, bring it to market and iterate towards product-market fit. This will require forward-thinking solutions for complex processes and a balance of speed vs. future proofing.

 What you’ll do

• Have a fundamental impact on core technology and product decisions
• Develop greenfield products, setting up our early architecture, technical capabilities, and initial applications
• Help set and uphold high standards for code quality, test coverage, and platform stability without sacrificing delivery and iteration speed.
• Iterate on internal processes to help the team achieve more with less, and maintain a high delivery velocity.

Who you are

• 3+ years hands on experience shipping high quality products
• Have an entrepreneurial mindset
• Enjoy being a generalist that works on whatever it takes to solve problems and delight users
• Experience developing early stage applications, taking them to scale, and maintaining them over many release cycles
• Expert knowledge of modern web development technologies
• A desire to to be part of a low ego, high performing engineering team
• Able to build for the long term, but also able to find efficient short-term solutions

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Block wants all employees to be supported in their personal and professional development, so we take a comprehensive approach to total rewards. We practice a market-based and performance-driven compensation philosophy which compensates employees fairly and competitively, and rewards strong performance. The base salary range for this position is from $140,000 to $165,000. This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for a NY-based position. The actual base salary will depend on numerous factors such as: experience, knowledge and skills, qualifications, location, and other job-related factors.
