Full Stack Engineer (Platform Engineer)

Infleqtion (ColdquantaLabs/Super.tech) is a global quantum technology company solving the world's most challenging problems. LOCATION

Infleqtion has 6 office locations, operating out of Austin, TX; Boulder/Louisville, CO; Madison, WI; Chicago, IL; London, UK; and Melbourne, AU. This position is a full-time, hybrid position which will be located in our Chicago, Illinois offices.

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Vice President, Quantum Software, the newly hired platform engineer will be a full-stack software engineer, maintaining and creating additional infrastructure for SuperstaQ, the core product of Super.tech, a division of Infleqtion. The SuperstaQ leverages leading research to force-multiply the performance of quantum computers and target practical applications.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties and responsibilities outlined below include essential functions of the role. Depending on business needs, this role may perform a combination of some or all of the following duties. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice.

• Improving performance of SuperstaQ infrastructure
• Accelerate developer velocity by improving CI/CD processes and setting up developer tools
• Maintaining and monitoring servers
• Developing and maintaining security best practices for SuperstaQ
• Other duties or projects as assigned

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

• Platform Engineer:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or related field and a minimum of 2 years of professional work experience in software development, ideally targeting web platforms and/or open-source client; fluency in Python required
• Senior Platform Engineer:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or related field and a minimum of 5 years of professional work experience in software development, ideally targeting web platforms and/or open-source client; fluency in Python required
• Prior experience with cloud development, especially on AWS and experience with backend development with tools such as Flask for web frameworks and PostgreSQL for databases
• Knowledge of CI/CD, automated actions, issue tracking, version control, and other features on GitHub
• Familiarity with security core best-practices such as access control, encryption at rest, key rotation, and logging
• Demonstrated ability to effectively share information with technical and non-technical staff
• Demonstrated ability to learn new and complex topics quickly
• Demonstrated ability to work and communicate with all levels of an organization; Professional-level communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation skills
• Demonstrated ability to work comfortably in a highly collaborative, cross-functional, team-oriented, and matrixed environment
• Desire and demonstrated ability to thrive and produce results in a fluid, dynamic, and fast-paced environment
• Passion for solving complex problems and challenges in a highly technical and scientific environment
• Ability to travel domestically and (potentially) internationally up to 10%
• This role requires that you do not require sponsorship or a work visa transfer
