What the job looks like:

You'll be part of a multi-disciplinary, agile application development team tasked with modernizing an enterprise government system. The project work is primarily remote but may require some client on-site work estimated at < 5%.

• Mobbing and pairing with your team to design, code, test, debug, deploy and document software in an agile environment
• Working with your team, supporting agile engineering practices such as delivering small narrow slices of functionality, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment, and Infrastructure as Code
• Working with UX/UI Designers, DevSecOps Engineers, Full Stack Software Engineers, Data Engineers and Data Analysts to modernize a 50 year old legacy system
• Tackle a wide variety of technical problems
• Exercise your full tool-belt of skills and experience

You have:

• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• An interest in increasing your DevOps Engineering skills and experience
• A bachelor's degree or commensurate experience
• Self-motivated with strong communication and collaboration skills
• Passion for learning new technologies and the ability to do so quickly
• Ability to write high-quality code efficiently
• Agile software development experience
• Advanced knowledge and experience with .NET or Java, React, or other modern languages
• Experience building service-oriented APIs
• Experience with Google Cloud or AWS Cloud platforms or Azure
• Experience building applications that integrate application logging, monitoring and alerting
• Experience automating Cloud Platform infrastructure using Terraform/CloudFormation desired
• DevOps, Continuous Delivery & Automation using tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Packer, CloudBees Jenkins, Nexus desired
• Experience modernizing legacy mainframe systems desired
• Experience solving complex problems and implementing solutions for performance and scalability
