Principal Full Stack Software Engineer 

EverQuote is seeking a Principal Full Stack Software Engineer to join our growing team! As a senior member of the Engineering team, you will be instrumental in delivering architecture improvements that will scale the EverQuote systems. 

This role is for someone who enjoys building amazing platforms that serve insurance shoppers, insurance providers, partners, and internal users alike. You will improve the relationship with all of these clients through creativity and problem-solving using a wide range of tools.

What you'll do:

• Help with the development of robust, domain-centric services that meet the evolving needs of our business. 
• Define and evolve our system design and architecture in response to business needs and scale.
• Execute road mapping, planning and scoping to build toward the overall team strategy & vision.
• Work closely with analysts to start to build out a front end platform that is more efficient and accessible.
• Carry the voice of customer in every conversation and decision, ensuring we build world class products that our customers love and value.

Who you are:

• 8+ years of professional programming experience including experience at a software product company
• Proficient in Python, Java, or other server side languages
• Experience with modern JavaScript, HTML and CSS including building for mobile Web Experience with React and it’s ecosystem (e.g. Redux, Styled Components, etc)
• Have worked in a microservice based architecture and understand the basics of Docker and Kubernetes
• Able to quickly diagnose and solve code problems, as well as help others unblock themselves
• Passionate about partnering with product and design to build positive user experiences
• Competent at automated testing  
• Have an entrepreneurial mindset, want to grow a business, and love working with a team
• Comfortable using data to support and validate your concepts
