Job Description
About Your Role
Our team is looking to add an experienced engineer to its roster of ~15 developers. As a Developer on the Navix.io Engineering team, you will have a great deal of autonomy and ownership contributing to our product and platform that powers the country’s largest logistics companies. We are interested in your ideas and innovation. If you’ve got experience at a startup or have an “I will figure this out” mindset, we encourage you to apply. We value developers who embrace ownership over order-takers.
What You'll Do
- Software Development
- Develop and maintain software applications based on written and communicated documentation from team leadership and product organization.
- Write and maintain efficient and readable code.
- Assist in troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving defects in the application.
- Review PRs from other developers as a part of the deployment pipeline.
- Build integrations to legacy (i.e., ugly) software systems.
- Embrace short cycle CI/CD, using GitHub and GitHub Actions, and fixing problems quickly in production. Yeah, we literally do test in production.
- Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with the software development team, product managers, QA teams, and other stakeholders.
- Actively participate in team meetings, code reviews, and design discussions.
- Provide regular updates on task progress, challenges, and solutions.
- Documentation & Quality Assurance
- Develop technical documentation for software applications as a part of the refinement planning process.
- Participate in the testing phase of software development to ensure quality and functionality.
- Assist in identifying and rectifying software performance issues.
- Review system design and author “Request For Comment” (RFC) documents.
- Continuous Learning & Growth
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
- Actively seek feedback to improve personal development and coding skills.
What You'll Bring
- 3 years minimum working in a B2B SaaS environment.
- 3 years minimum working with C#/.NET Core; experience with Angular is a bonus.
- Willingness to embrace a remote working environment and asynchronous, document driven communication.
- Basic understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).
- A desire to use data to drive your decisions.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Autonomy and an ownership mindset – we’ll help you, but we want you to help us too.
- Proficiency in English in both written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to use dark mode for everything, or you’ll be subject to much ridicule.
What We Value
We believe that the best software is software that is in use, in production. We optimize business value and impact. We believe that the best code is simple for humans to read. We work with a sense of urgency, think about how our application works as a whole, and advocate for improvements. Our core values are:
- Empathy: work with our users and each other in mind
- Pragmatism: plan and work in iterations and design for change
- Ownership: ensuring we are delivering quality software to our customers
How You Work
- You thrive in a fast-paced environment, where you prioritize quickly and leverage resources within the organization.
- You are intrinsically motivated to educate yourself on the latest industry trends and market research, positioning yourself as our customer's go-to person and subject matter expert.
- Occasional after-hours work may be required for support or to meet project deadlines.
- Maybe you work on a Mac, maybe a PC, maybe something else – we'll make sure you have the tools you need to work comfortably.
How We Work
- We are consistently building, refining, and automating processes to aid our work; we encourage each team member to propose and adopt new technologies, frameworks, and processes that make us more effective as an organization.
- You are empowered to choose the environment that maximizes your happiness, engagement, and ability to reach our shared goals.
- Some of us work near or in corporate offices, but many of us work remotely full-time.
- While travel is minimal, a valid passport may be required if international travel is anticipated for your role.
- We provide comprehensive benefits such as Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k + match, Life & Disability Insurance to reward and support our employees. Medical insurance premiums are covered 100% for our employees.
- We offer 20 days of PTO and have a genuine, supportive culture around time-off.
- Our Core Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 - 5:00 pm CST.
- We organize two in-person employee retreats a year to foster community, culture and reinforce our commitment to strong team dynamics and organizational alignment on our strategic initiatives.
