About You
The Yahoo Adtech SSP team is looking for a Software Engineer who is passionate about the large-scale, large-user base, website development. You must demonstrate a go-getter attitude to drive solutions to problems. You should be able to foster teamwork, promote team collaboration and communication, and gauge project progress.
Your Day
Research, design, implement and support software for existing and new products. Examples vary widely from time-series data management to pub-sub messaging to services deployment. Analyze and improve scalability, latency, stability, and security in Yahoo's Ad Tech SSP platform. Design and develop key pieces of our applications' feature-rich cloud-based solution.
Participate in the agile development of project timelines, implementation design specifications, system flow diagrams, documentation, testing, and ongoing support of systems. Recommend modifications to processes and procedures, and contribute to best practices, architecture, and implementations. Promote and solicit ideas within project teams.
Requirements

• Java developer, working experience with modern Java releases (currently on 11, moving to 17) and technologies such as Spring/Springboot, jetty, nginx.
• JavaScript developer, working experience with modern JavaScript technologies such as AngularJS, EmberJS, ReactJS, and Webpack.
• Work with team members to create best practices and patterns around the sage of capabilities and tools.
• Work with more team members to create standards that more junior engineers can easily adapt and use.
• Work with our internal Product Managers to help develop and clarify requirements.
• Tackle Production issues.
• Effectively manages day-to-day tasks in an agile way to meet schedule and commitments.
• Write clear idiomatic Javascript code that is reusable and easily understood.
• Write testable "at all levels of testing" ( using testing frameworks ) Javascript code that is easily understood that accomplishes team and company objectives.

Skills and education

• Bachelor's degree 3+ years or more of experience designing and programming Java-based backend/api applications or 5+ years of proven experience without a degree.
• Bachelor's degree 3+ years or more of experience designing and programming Javascript-based web applications or 5+ years of proven experience without a degree.
• Experience with Spring/Springboot
• Experience with developing fast and responsive Javascript UI's.
• Hands-on experience in writing unit, integration, and end-to-end test cases using testing frameworks.
• Hands-on knowledge of JavaScript UI frameworks such as AngularJS and EmberJS.
• Experience using ReactJS and Redux.
• Must have strong programming and debugging skills.
• Must have a solid understanding of application design, development processes, and methodologies.
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

If hired for this position in Colorado, the compensation range for this position is between $97,500.00 - $162,500.00. The compensation may vary depending on your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include additional incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, plus equity incentives. Yahoo provides industry-leading benefits including healthcare, retirement, company holidays, vacation, sick time, parental leave and an employee assistance program.
