Full Stack Support Engineer -Java/Angular

The core of our business is built around providing Commercial Insurance to small and medium sized businesses, Wholesalers and Agents through our proprietary platform that is connected via API’s to many large insurance carriers. Who we are looking for:

The Full Stack Support Engineer - Java/Angular position is ideal for someone who thrives in working in a fast paced environment. The candidate should also have a passion for working with a growing team where you will have daily access to the decision makers charting the company’s path. As importantly, the candidate must be able to troubleshoot and write software fixes for our various software systems across multiple insurance carriers.

Requirements

Required:

Must have 10 years experience maintaining Java applications for backend API systems utilizing best practices for performance, design and security.

Must have expert-level experience developing and maintaining Java Spring Boot REST API's and architecting high-performance services.

5-7 years SQL experience is required using any major DBMS system (MySQL/Oracle/SQL Server/etc).

Must have 3+ years of development experience writing and understanding front-end Javascript UI Frameworks such as React or Angular.

The candidate must have experience troubleshooting, triaging and writing code for bug fixes in a fast paced environment and be able to deliver fixes in a timely manner.

Strong experience writing Java applications on the Spring Boot framework for MongoDB is also required.

At least 4 years of experience with SSO integration, JWT, and REST Based API Development with any major Identity provider. In addition to this, the candidate should possess a deep understanding of working with API gateways.

Knowledge of industry standard software best practices, software development lifecycle processes and Agile and Scrum methodologies.

Solid understanding of improving and debugging backend performance bottlenecks.

A deep understanding of writing Java applications in a micro service architecture is required as is experience working with Jenkins, GIT and other build tools.

Hands-on experience running Java applications in a Linux environment is required.

Hands-on Cloud experience is required and GCP a plus.

Preferred:

Hands-on experience using Swagger/OpenAPI is preferred.

Working experience with Jira is helpful

Education

4 Year College Degree (or the equivalent)

Interviews will be conducted w/technical Java Engineers so only serious candidates should apply.
