Work With Real-World Models for Real Applications

At Fictiv, we work collaboratively to deliver new features to our platform. You will work in small cross-functional teams to ship code early and often to ensure a rapid feedback loop between us and our customers.

Fictiv's Comp Geo team is responsible for automated analysis of customer CAD models and design drawings and for determining pricing as well as lead time to manufacture those parts to the customer's specifications.  The Senior Software Engineer, will hold responsibility for backend software development in support of quoting and pricing algorithms and services in addition to running pricing algorithm changes against historical data and reporting expected impact to overall pricing, costs and margins. As well, the engineer will perform frontend development of internal quoting and part inspection web pages, and components of customer-facing pages. Working alongside cross-functional teams, you will serve as a key contributor to help guide others as well as helping the team level up an improve in our collective craft. In addition, you will:

• Showcase technical expertise – Build secure, scalable, and performant web applications with modular, well-structured components through performing both backend server and frontend software development.
• Deliver quality – Demonstrate your high attention to detail by thinking deeply about how data is fetched, cached, and updated to provide a seamless user experience. Ensure quality of code as well as holding both yourself and your colleagues accountable for shipping polished, well-tested code.
• Bring out the best in the team – Use influence and knowledge to lift the team to high standards of excellence not only in application design and code quality, but also in collaboration and development practices. Exhibit a desire to being mentored regarding best practices for software development

• Significant and proven experience (4+ yrs.) as software engineer on agile teams, shipping web software to end users
• 2 years as technical or project team lead for cross-functional web-focused team (preferably in a start-up like environment)
• Highly proficient in front-end, full stack, or API application development
• Specific listed experience shipping customer facing web software or features
• Led development of … that impact “X users”
• Led user growth team for [some web app feature]
• Team lead for [some web product or web group]

A plus to the above skills is bringing:

• Graphics background in video game or simulation, and /or Three.js, OpenGL, WebGL, DirectX, Vulcan

Full Tech Stack: Node.js, React, Redux, Javascript/Typescript, Cypress.js, data fetching from GraphQL or REST API's
