Job Description

Overview of Position

The Fullstack Engineer will be an integral part of a dynamic, agile team, focusing on developing AI and ML-driven web applications. This role requires a blend of front-end and back-end skills, with a strong emphasis on Next.js for front-end development and an understanding of Python for back-end services. The ideal candidate will be able to engage in building and refining AI or ML solutions, driving innovation and responsiveness to customer needs.

The primary project will involve developing AI and ML-driven applications, requiring a genuine enthusiasm for experimenting and exploring new technologies. Innovation and rapid prototyping in response to customer feedback will be a key expectation for this role. The Fullstack Engineer should be passionate about creating solutions that not only meet but exceed customer needs, driving the product forward in this exciting and evolving field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain scalable, high-quality web applications using TypeScript, Next.js, Tailwind CSS and Python backend frameworks.
  • Collaborate closely with data scientists and AI specialists to integrate machine learning models into the web applications.
  • Uphold the principles of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD), focusing on improving and maintaining smooth deployment processes.
  • Continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and languages, contributing effectively from day one.
  • Champion the development of meaningful test automation, setting high standards for thoroughness and reliability.
  • Innovate and iterate on the product based on direct customer feedback, focusing on creating features that are quick, useful, and easy to use.
  • Comfortably utilize components from a component library and create new components as required, ensuring consistency and reusability in the application’s user interface.

Qualifications

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in Next.js and experienced with Python for backend development.
  • Proven experience with CI/CD practices.
  • Strong foundation in web application development, including responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Ability to quickly master new technologies, languages, and development environments as needed.
  • Proficient in writing and understanding SQL queries, with a focus on PostgreSQL.
  • A keen interest in exploring and integrating new AI solutions is required.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work with complex data structures and algorithms.

Soft Skills

  • A deep passion for AI, ML, and innovation in technology.
  • Fast learner, able to contribute immediately and bring valuable insights to the team.
  • Strong communication skills, both in listening and expressing technical ideas.
  • High flexibility and adaptability to pivot as project directions evolve.
  • A strong work ethic, with an ability to work abstractly and gain consensus.
  • Commitment to thorough documentation of code, processes, and practices.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience with other front-end frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js).
  • Familiarity with cloud environments, particularly AWS services.
  • Prior experience or interest in fine-tuning machine learning models.
  • Eagerness to experiment with new technologies and to quickly prototype solutions based on customer feedback.

Additional Information

Compensation: 

Scaled Agile is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The target salary range for this role is $110,000- $130,000. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, and certifications.

Employees of Scaled Agile are also compensated with a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, optional insurance products including identity protection and pet insurance, 401K with a match, flexible paid time off, company-paid sabbatical after six years of service, bonus plan, and equity options.
