The Brokerage Linking team builds and maintains technology enabling clients to quickly securely and accurately link accounts. This platform team works closely with product engineering  teams at Wealthsimple to support new and elevated client experiences.

The Clients Domain at Wealthsimple oversees the broad and important mandate of growing our client base. We acquire and guide clients through their onboarding journey so that they can seamlessly open and fund their accounts — most often we do this with no human intervention and in hours not days! To accomplish this we’ve built industry-leading technology focused on automation and integrate various third-party technologies to verify client identities and link bank accounts. We’re also highly data-backed and execute experiments and features to reduce friction in our user experience — helping new clients onboard easier and existing clients adopt additional Wealthsimple products and refer others.

On the Brokerage Linking team you will:

• Scope design and implement features in the brokerage linking platform to serve emerging business needs.

• Evolve and maintain system observability testing and automation to ensure high availability and reliability.

• Proactively strengthen the security of our systems adopting and defining best practices in the domain.

• Act as a technical leader and domain expert frequently collaborating with other teams to enable their work.

• Work closely with team members advancing best practices and advocating for code quality in the domain.

Brokerage Linking is looking for someone who:

• Has experience building and maintaining reliable and scalable systems.

• Is self directed and able to work effectively both within their team as well as in consultation with teams outside their own.

• Has proficiency with modern logging and monitoring tools and leverages these as part of their daily development practice.

• Has familiarity with AWS or other cloud service provider.

• Is able to clearly and effectively communicate and work across disciplines partnering closely with infrastructure security and product teams.

Within 1 month you'll:

• Learn about the foundations of Wealthsimple and our current goals for the future that you will start to shape.

• Meet other new Wealthsimplers in your onboarding group and key people from each department to start to build relationships across the company.

• Gather an understanding of our technology by pair-programming with your teammates and attending engineering onboarding sessions designed and presented by your peers.

• Have an assigned buddy within your team that will assist you in getting up-to-speed with our architecture and current projects.

Within 6 months you'll:

• Reliably ship new features to our clients following our best practices such as shipping daily writing automated tests and monitoring.

• Contribute to or lead the technical design of a project while understanding how it will shape our future architecture.

• Collaborate with other developers on the team while mentoring and providing continuous feedback via code reviews.

• Develop a big picture perspective and understand how our tools and frameworks come together. You’ll feel comfortable contributing to various codebases.

Within 12 months you'll:

• Lead your first project: planning scoping and regularly communicating progress to stakeholders to ensure the quality and timelines.

• Have provided leverage to our engineering teams by shipping new best practices and tools for all to benefit from.

• Participate in our hiring process and shape the growth of the Engineering team.

• Have worked closely with our product and design teams contributing your own feedback and opinions on design and UX.
