Fully Remote Data Engineer/Front End Developer

Full Stack Developer needed with Data Engineering focus (Fully Remote!)

US citizenship required, can provide clearance sponsorship and maintain any level of security clearance!

This position is funded and vacant, as we are looking to complete our team of Engineers, and is available for immediate start once a background check is approved!

Job Overview: The Data Engineer will work to identify, procure, analyze and disseminate data from publicly available sources that meet our business needs. The engineer will work as part of a team to create data sets, and work with the end user community to gain an understanding of data needs as well as answer questions on specific data. The Engineer will also work with our engineering team to amass data at scale, in a cloud setting. The engineer is also expected to provide feedback and or ideas on data sources, and data that may be beneficial to the problem set. The work involves both analysis/thought work as well as the engineering work necessary to procure datasets.

Responsibilities:

• Write source code that will procure data via web scraping and or API calls
• Analyze data sets for applicability and relevance
• Work with end user community to understand data requirements and use cases
• Create data set deliveries, including data, data dictionaries and data landscape
• Parse, clean and normalize data sets
• Ensure compliance with legal, policy and privacy guidelines

Requirements

Required Skills:

• Write source code that will procure data via web scraping and or API calls
• Work within an Amazon AWS environment
• JavaScript
• NodeJS
• CSS/HTML/DOM
• REST
• Ability to "go get" the data (other team members will package it)
• BS in Computer Science or Engineering

Preferred Skills (Optional):

• Experience with large datasets (>750M records)
• Python
• Machine Learning Algorithms
• Building/maintaining data flows
• Active Security clearance
