THE POSITION
As a Function Development and Application Engineer you will be responsible for the application development and testing of state-of-the-art Electronic Brake & safety Systems functions for vehicle dynamics control.
As a team member within a global engineering environment, you will support and work closely with internal and external customers to develop our Electronic Brake & safety Systems to both Continental and customer requirements.
Core Responsibilities:• Test and develop Electronic Brake Systems and its components to requirements• Define & analyze system requirements on vehicle level• Ensure input & output is within prescribed interface guidelines / specifications• Plan and execute function and application tests (vehicle / HIL)• Create and execute test specifications and document test results• Plan, execute and document all release relevant vehicle test activities • Interface with customer (OEM) • Coordinate build, equipment and maintenance of test vehicles and needed test equipment• Interface with departmental personnel in resolution of development issues from above

Job Requirements
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering discipline• General experience working in the automotive industry• Systematic problem-solving skills• Excellent communication skills• Team player with strong focus on quality and customer orientation • Self-dependent with a high degree of passion, dedication, and commitment• Ability to travel year-round (may require travel 3 to 5 months per year)• Valid Driver's License• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • 2 years of experience working in the automotive industry• Degree in Engineering discipline with focus on automotive engineering• Basic knowledge in data acquisition & vehicle BUS systems• Basic knowledge in vehicle mechanics, electrics, and electronics• Basic Knowledge in MATLAB/Simulink• Basic Knowledge in Simulation HW & SW (HIL/SIL, CarSim/Carmaker) • Experience within development of vehicle dynamics, chassis, or brakes • Advanced vehicle driving and judgment skills (vehicle dynamics area)• Hands-on experience• Experience in FSAE, motorsport or similar activities
