Functional Safety Manager

Gotion Inc. is looking for a Functional Safety Manager for the battery system team. This position requires an experienced professional with a solid knowledge of the ISO 26262 functional safety standard and strong related experience at an OEM or Tier 1. Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the overall architecture of Gotion's battery systems with a special focus on battery management system and battery module/packs
• Architect and manage Gotion’s functional safety strategy from concept to production
• Build a functional safety team to support battery system design and validation tests
• Help to design processes and an efficient toolchain to ensure Gotion’s BMS and battery systems provide world-class safety
• Promote and train functional safety processes and concepts within Gotion
• Drive the safety program plan and the safety case
• Specify safety requirements and safety concepts for the system, hardware, and software architectures
• Conduct reviews with product teams to ensure functional safety standards are being met throughout product development cycles

Required Education and Experience:

• Minimum BS degree in a relevant technical field (e.g. EE, ME, CS)
• 3+ years experience in automotive fuctional safety
• A thorough understanding of vehicle systems and system design principles
• A passion for streamlined engineering processes
• Experience in Functional Safety Assessment as per ISO 26262 process
• Good understanding of the responsibility shared between supplier and OEM when it comes to product safety
• Knowledge of Requirements Management tools
• Knowledge of Safety analysis activities such as FTA, FMEA, FMEDA, HARA, etc.
• Experience in Software Quality and process (e.g., SPICE, CMMI)
• Proven record of taking customer requirements from design to production
• General knowledge of automotive embedded systems, hardware, and software
