Fund Accountant

The Role 

We are seeking a highly qualified Accountant to join our Fund Accounting team. This team is responsible for the accounting and reporting as it relates to the Funds. They interact with various groups within the firm on a regular basis as well as with external parties such as investors, managers, fund admin, and other service providers. The candidate should bring a strong sense of personal responsibility and ownership of assigned projects and tasks.                                                                                                                                                                                                       

What you’ll do 

The Fund Accountant will help facilitate the month-end close process by reviewing and reconciling monthly workbooks between Schonfeld and the administrator. This will include the review of P&L allocation to our investors, investor capital and fees, and proper booking and calculation of fund and portfolio manager expenses.. This person will work with various Schonfeld teams to ensure any cash or position breaks are remedied appropriately from an accounting perspective and that all investments are being appropriately valued in our workbooks. They will calculate and distribute monthly estimates to investors.  He/She will assist with the annual fund financial statement audit process and related tax statement preparation as well as quarterly regulatory AUM reporting. This individual will work on ad-hoc report preparations and projects.  They will also assist with monitoring and maintaining appropriate financial controls, policies and procedures to support existing operations and continued growth.

What you’ll bring

What you need:

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Strong working knowledge using Excel (e.g. pivot tables, v and h lookups, index match, etc.)
• 2-5 years of relevant work experience in alternative investments asset managers.
• Process and detail oriented with a strong work ethic and team focused attitude
• Able to adapt to frequent changes in the business operating environment
• Highly organized and self-motivated
• CPA Preferred

• Working knowledge of Advent Geneva
• Mix in public accounting/buy side experience
