Fund Accountant
Job Description
POSITION: Fund Accountant
LOCATION: Greenwich, CT (Hybrid work environment with both remote and in-person work schedule)
The Fund Accountant will join a four person team focused primarily on the long-short hedge fund, long fund, and the newly formed credit effort. The individual will be part of a fifteen-person Accounting team and work collaboratively with other groups including Technology, Investor Relations, Legal, and Treasury/Operations. The Fund Accountant is encouraged to be a proactive, critical thinker who will focus on maximizing individual potential and impact to the group/firm.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Calculate fund incentive fees, investor balances and liquidity, investor redemption wires, and monthly fund management fees
- Handle various reconciliation processes
- Review, allocate, and process fund expense payments
- Compute weekly and monthly performance estimates
- Prepare monthly NAV package. In doing so, will analyze differences and liaise with the fund administrator to resolve.
- Review monthly investor statements. Prepare/review monthly internal and external reporting
- Help meet various regulatory requirements and filings
- Coordinate with fund administrator and external auditors to produce financial statements
- Play an important role in efficiency initiatives, including IT projects, workflow optimization, and vendor management
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have:
- 4+ years of public/private accounting experience
- An undergraduate degree with a strong GPA
- CPA preferred
- Proficient knowledge of Excel
- Variety of investment product knowledge. Credit experience is a plus.
- Geneva experience is a plus
