About the Role

The Fund Accountant will participate in all operational, fund administration, compliance, audit and tax functions, acting as an integral part of a close-knit team of Lonsdale Investment Management as well as the broader Opto Investments. The Fund Accountant will be expected to manage the daily operational and transactional processing, quarterly reporting, annual audit and tax requirements of Opto Investment’s private fund platform. The Fund Accountant will report directly to the Head of Finance and Accounting.


Your day-to-day will include:

  • Oversee capital draws, distributions, fees and expenses processed in the funds 
  • Oversee quarterly close and investor reporting 
  • Ensure fund administrator reporting is accurate and completed on time
  • Complete expense allocation across Opto Investment’s Funds
  • Support annual audits and K-1 reporting of Opto Funds
  • Assist in compliance reports (i.e. Bluesky, Form PF, Form ADV, Cayman FAR filing)
  • Responsible for reconciliation of fees and expenses between Opto Funds and Opto affiliates
  • Liaison between Advisory Services and Operations teams on investor ad-hoc requests 

About You

You are comfortable interacting with internal and external stakeholders within the business. You possess a strong attention to detail and are able to raise your hand to help with process improvement initiatives. You have strong communication skills, the ability to work cross-functionally, and a passion for finance and investing. You bring a confident and positive attitude with a low ego, and a high degree of ingenuity and resourcefulness.


Required Skills

  • A self-starter, who knows how to prioritize and work under tight deadlines well
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels 
  • Familiarity with US GAAP and statutory accounting principles


Bonus Skills

  • Experience in direct investment operations, accounting and transaction servicing (a plus but not required)
  • Experience in blue sky, ADV, form PF (a plus but not required)


Background

  • 2-3 years of accounting experience at big 4, or a mix of big 4 and fund administration
  • Experience in private funds (i.e. Fund of Funds)
  • CPA or intend to obtain CPA certification in the near future
  • Stellar written and verbal communication skills

The successful candidate for this role can expect a generous compensation and benefits package. The cash salary range for this role is $85,000-$110,000 dependent on skills, experience and expected contribution.
