What Software Engineering Contributes to Cardinal Health

• Our Software Engineers are full-stack developers proficient at working within all layers of an application, including but not limited to operating systems, databases, application servers, web servers and integration technologies.
• They work in an Agile development environment as a hands-on developer delivering technology solutions to transform healthcare into a safer and more cost-effective industry.
• Our Engineers analyze production system operations using tools such as monitoring, capacity analysis and outage root cause analysis to identify and drive change that ensures continuous improvement in system stability and performance.

• Applies comprehensive knowledge and a thorough understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to perform varied tasks and projects
• May contribute to the development of policies and procedures
• Works on complex projects of large scope
• Develops technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Solutions are innovative and consistent with organization objectives
• Completes work independently receives general guidance on new projects
• Work reviewed for purpose of meeting objectives
• May act as a mentor to less experienced colleagues

Accountabilities

• Responsible for researching, analyzing, designing, proposing, and delivering solutions that support and enhance business and technologies strategies.
• Defines and rationalizes the technology and security infrastructure that supports the application solutions/tools.
• Identify technical risks and plans to mitigations risks, adherence to standards and best practices.
• Deliver incremental business value by developing technical capabilities aligned to the product roadmap.
• Design and develop innovative solutions to address business needs.
• Work and collaborate with multiple teams across the ecosystem to ensure proper integration of platform services with other products.
• Write efficient code based on feature specifications
• Prioritize and execute tasks in the software development life cycle

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering preferred.
• 5+ years of professional experience in Software Engineering with relevant tech stack.
• Knowledge of Agile and Scrum development practices and processes
• Experience with Java, Javascript, EmberJS, MySQL and noSQL databases, RESTful web services, API design, SpringBoot preferred
