Futures Trader, Associate/Vice President

Job Purpose:

BTIG seeks a Futures Trader who will be responsible for executing Futures and Options client trades within the Futures and Commodities team in our New York office. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Execute client trades on various Global Futures Exchanges for institutional and CTA clients primarily during US trading hours (at times may need to cover other time zones)
• Liaison with Prime Brokerage and Operations department to ensure client trades are given-out and matched timely
• Assist with inputting client and broker trades into internal and external matching systems when needed
• Write daily morning market commentary as needed

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 2-5 years of trading experience at a financial institution
• Good knowledge of futures and options markets and futures execution systems (like TT)
• Understanding of futures execution algorithms an asset
• Experience with Clearport or ICEBlock is beneficial
• Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment
• Self-motivated approach to work with a high work ethic and superior attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Proficient in the Microsoft Excel, Bloomberg and FIX technology applications
• Series 3 licensed
